1974 Porsche 911 2.7 RS













These models, valued by collectors, are considered by many to be the greatest classic 911s of all-time. RS stands for Rennsport in German, meaning race sport in English. The Carrera name was reintroduced from the 356 Carrera which had itself been named after Porsche's class victories in the Carrera Panamericana races in Mexico in the 1950s. The RS was built so that Porsche could enter racing formulae that demanded that a certain minimum number of production cars were made. Compared with a standard 911S, the Carrera 2.7 RS had a larger engine (2687 cc) developing 210 PS (150 kW; 210 hp) with Bosch (Kugelfischer) MFI, revised and stiffened suspension, a "ducktail" rear spoiler, larger brakes, wider rear wheels and rear fenders. In RS Touring form it weighed 1075 kg (2370 lb), in Sport Lightweight form it was about 100 kg (220 lb) lighter, the saving coming from the thin-gauge steel used for parts of the body shell and also the use of thinner glass. In total, 1580 were made, comfortably exceeding the 500 that had to be made to qualify for the vital FIA Group 4 class. 49 Carrera RS cars were built with 2808 cc engines producing 300 PS (221 kW).

Model year 1974 saw three significant changes. First, the engine size was increased to 2687 cc giving an increase in torque. Second, was the introduction of impact bumpers to conform with low-speed protection requirements of US law, these bumpers being so successfully integrated into the design that they remained unchanged for 15 years. Thirdly, the use of K-Jetronic CIS Bosch fuel injection in two of the three models in the line up— the 911 and 911S models, retaining the narrow rear arches of the old 2.4, now had a 2.7-liter engine producing 150 PS (110 kW; 150 hp) and 175 PS (129 kW; 173 hp), respectively.

2013 Opel Adam Cabrio












The Opel Adam Rocks Concept – a beefed-up, convertible version of the Adam – grabbed our eye earlier this year at the Geneva Motor Show, and now reports indicate that the open-top Opel could soon get the green light for production. According to Auto Motor und SportGeneral Motors is expected to approve the Adam Cabrio, which would compete against trendy small convertibles like the Fiat 500C and Citroën DS3 Cabrio.

As seen on the concept version and its potential rivals, the Adam Cabrio would use a retractable soft top that is more like a massive glorified sunroof than a typical convertible, leaving the side rails in place. Of course, the big question for US buyers would be whether or not GM plans to bring this open-top Opel across the pond. Last we heard, GM CEO Dan Akerson had voiced his desire to bring both the Adam and the Opel Cascada convertible to Buick showrooms in the US, but we'll just have to wait and see.

The history began in 2001 when Dr. Ulrich Bez approved a design for the DB7 Zagato, which was inspired and financed by the Zagato team, comprising of Andrea and Marella Zagato and Peter Read, a long time enthusiast and collector of Aston Martins.
Due to the success of the DB7 Zagato (all 99 units were sold at the Paris Motor Show prior to production) and with the approval and collaboration of Aston Martin, the same team designed, developed and produced a one-off DB9 Spyder Zagato Centennial. This creation honours the heritage, power and elegance of Aston Martin’s Centenary.
The team’s vision is best expressed by Peter Read; “The DB9 Spyder Zagato Centennial perfectly merges Aston Martin and Zagato’s DNA by combining the elegance of design, typical of Zagato, with the soul, power and prestige of Aston Martin, all developed over the last 100 years. Aston Martin V8 Vantage Roadster by D2Forged











D2Forged Wheels have recently wrapped up work fitting a set of the XL2 wheels to a unique orange Aston Martin V8 Vantage Roadster and the results are quite breathtaking.
These five-spoke wheels feature matte black centers and complement the orange paint scheme of the car with color matched lips. The wheels measure 20×9 at the front and 20×11 at the rear.

2013 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Rendered




The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution has long been considered as one of the greatest sports cars ever produced in Japan. While it may not necessarily fit within the criteria of a sports car with it featuring two too many doors, its bang for your buck performance is only matched by the Subaru Impreza WRX STi. However, reports have emerged that the next-generation Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution could take things one step further and compete with the Nissan GT-R.
Consequently, the next Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution could feature a 500hp plug-in hybrid engine while being based on the upcoming facelifted and upgraded Mitsubishi Lancer hatchback. The new Evolution, or simply ‘Evo’, would borrow technology utilised on the Mitsubishi MiEV Evolution II Pikes Peak racing car. However, the development and production of such a range-topping sports car all depends on the acceptance of Mitsubishi’s plug-in hybrid PHEV systems.
Nevertheless, the new Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution would maintain the all-wheel drive layout of previous generations and have the option of running solely on electric power. Under the hood, the next-gen Evo would likely feature a 2.0-liter petrol engine alongside two electric motors producing 80hp each and from a design standpoint, Mitsubishi could draw on the Mitsubishi Concept-RA from the Detroit Motor Show 2008.
Unfortunately, the development of a car all hinges on how successful the PHEV technology becomes and the charging infrastructure required to sell Mitsubishi’s PHEV car globally.

2013 BMW M3 GT2 R by G-Power












The G-Power M3 GT2 R is the newest offering from the BMW tuning company. It is worked from bonnet to boot in order to squeeze out the most performance and remove the most amount of weight. With 720hp on tap (300hp over stock) and 516 lb-ft of torque (221 lb-ft over stock), the GT2 R has the capability of reaching 0-62mph in 3.7 seconds, 0-124mph in 9.5 seconds and a top speed in excess of 205mph.
For reference, let's compare this M3 GT2 R to the M5 Hurricane RR. The M3 (V8) makes 720hp and the M5 (V10) makes 800hp while the M3 makes more torque at 516 lb-ft compared to the M5s 510 lb-ft. The M3 goes from 0-62 in 3.7 seconds, while the M5 makes it there in 4.35. But need we remind you, the M5 is quite a bit heavier weighing in at 4050 lbs. while the M3 comes in at 3306 lbs. Either way you go, both these G-power tuned Ms will take you from 0-wow in no time at all.
The GT2 R uses a SK III "Sporty Drive" supercharger system to achieve extra ponies, which was also used on the G-Power BMW V10. But this supercharger is different from the SK III used on the M5/M6 because it requires additional height in the engine bay. The forged pistons used in the GT2 R are developed through G-Powers tech partner Mahle in addition to specially crafted connecting rods. The crankshaft is also modified, increasing the displacement of the supercharger by 15% from 4-liters to 4.6-liters. A custom cooling system increases the capacity of the oil and water-cooling circuits. A titanium exhaust system discharges exhaust gases quickly and with minimal backpressure. The system also features free- flowing 100 cpsi metallic catalytic converters.
Weight reduction comes in the form of carbon fiber, lots of it. A full carbon-fiber body kit featuring a front skirt, all four wings, rear skirt, front lip, hood, a multi-part rear spoiler, and carbon racing bucket seats, all reduce weight and in the case of the rear spoiler, improve downforce. The carbon fiber hood is also multi-beneficial in terms of weight reduction and heat removal from the engine compartment.
This lightweight M3 rides on Clubsport coil-overs and weight-optimized 20-inch G-Power Silverstone RS forged wheels. Helping to stop the 720hp beast are G-Power ceramic brakes on the front and rear that work in conjunction with 6-piston brake calipers (front) and 4-piston brake calipers (rear).
The GT2 R wouldn't be complete without interior upgrades (other than the carbon seats). A G-Power leather trim package is available, which offers leather and alcantera touches throughout the cabin with orange and blue stitching.
All of this go-fast performance does come at a price. A completed G-Power M3 GT2 R will cost you approximately $259,000 or 195,310 Euros (compared to the M5 Hurricanes base price of $315,000). But if you would rather spec out your M3 with only some of the available options, here is a pricing breakdown:

Take a Porsche Panamera, cut off the roof and this is what you get! The Porsche Panamera Sport Cabriolet Concept is a design made by X-Tomi Design. A possible development of this car from Porsche is highly unlikely but possibly there is a tuner willing to build such a project when commissioned to do so.
With the roof-off the Porsche Panamera Sport Cabriolet Concept would immediately be one of the fastest four-person convertibles in the world. We think the looks are sharp and would love to see a car like this to stir up the Bentley GTC segment.

Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG by R’s Tuning












The R’s Tuning based in Irvine, California released their latest project, a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG dubbed the Iron Man. Its not the first time we feature the R’s Tuning here on GTspirit, previously we saw two of their Maserati GranTurismos.
Finished in red chrome, this Mercedes SLS AMG is certainly an eye catcher on the streets. For this projects the R’s Tuning only made cosmetic changes to the SLS AMG. It still packs the same 6.2 liter V8 tuned by AMG to reach an output of 571hp and 650Nm of torque. So now the question is what do you think of this ‘Iron Man’ SLS AMG?

2013 Mercedes-Benz S-Class by Brabus












Powerful, fast, individual and exclusive: concurrent with the sales release of the new Mercedes S-Class, BRABUS presents an extensive refinement program for the luxury sedan from Stuttgart. In a first step there will be performance kits for the eight-cylinder models that deliver up to 537 kW / 730 hp (720 bhp) of power, 1,065 Nm (785 lb-ft) of torque, a top speed up to 325 km/h (202 mph), tailor-made wheels with diameters up to 21 inches, and exclusive options for the interior. An aerodynamic-enhancement program with sporty-elegant design for the W 222 model series lends the vehicle an even more dynamic appearance. All components are backed by the one-of-a-kind BRABUS Tuning Warranty of three years, up to 100,000 kilometers / 62,000 miles (see BRABUS warranty terms and conditions, updated November 2006).

BRABUS offers the world's most extensive engine tuning program for Mercedes-Benz automobiles, which of course will be adapted to the new S-Class. In a first step customers will be able to choose from several performance kits for the V8 Biturbo engines.
The special mapping for injection and ignition as well as the moderately increased boost pressure of the plug-and-play BRABUS B50 - 520 PowerXtra CGI performance kit unleash an extra 65 horsepower from 4.7-liter eight-cylinder Biturbo engine of the S 500.

After the conversion, power output jumps from 335 kW / 455 hp (449 bhp) to 382 kW / 520 hp (512 bhp), while peak torque grows to 820 Nm (604 lb-ft). With it, the four-door car accelerates to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.2 seconds. The BRABUS Vmax unit that is part of the engine conversion allows limiting the top speed electronically to 250, 275 or 300 km/h (155, 168 or 186 mph).
Various ultra-powerful tuning levels offering up to 107 kW / 145 hp (143 bhp) of added power are available for the S 63 AMG, which ex-factory produces 430 kW / 585 hp (576 bhp): the BRABUS B63 - 650 PowerXtra CGI version serves up 478 kW / 650 hp (641 bhp) at a low 5,500 rpm. At the same time, peak torque jumps from 700 to 1,000 Nm (516 to 737 lb-ft), on tap between 2,250 and 3,750 rpm.

Also available is the BRABUS B63S - 730 high-performance version, which is unmistakable thanks to the distinctive BRABUS Gold Heat Reflection system for the intake and charge-air pipes. Replacing the two production turbochargers with two special BRABUS turbos with larger compressor unit generates a higher boost pressure. For even more added power the engine conversion also includes a low-temperature water radiator for the intercooling system, a free-flow exhaust system with metal catalysts and 75-mm (3-in.) thick downpipes, as well as special BRABUS mapping for the engine management system.
The BRABUS B63S - 730 engines produces 537 kW / 730 hp (720 bhp) of power at a low 5,300 rpm. Peak torque is limited electronically to 1,065 Nm (785 lb-ft) and available consistently between 1,750 and 5,000 rpm. Top speed is limited electronically to a maximum of 325 km/h (202 mph) by the BRABUS Vmax unit that is part of the conversion.
BRABUS recommends the use of fully synthetic MOTUL high-performance motor oil.

As the ideal complement to the engine conversions or for combining with the production engines, BRABUS offers a sport exhaust system with controlled butterfly valve for all new S 500 and S 63 AMG models. At the push of a button on the steering wheel drivers can choose whether to operate the V8 in a discrete "Coming Home" mode or to enjoy a markedly throaty exhaust note in the "Sport" position.
At the high speeds these vehicles attain the aerodynamic properties are also a crucial factor. To minimize negative lift on front and rear axle and to create an optimal aerodynamic balance, the BRABUS designers are in the wind tunnel to develop a sporty-elegant body conversion kit. The components, which are manufactured from PUR plastics and carbon fibers, give the luxury sedan a dynamic visual upgrade and will be presented at the IAA International Auto Show 2013 in Frankfurt/Main.
Already available for the new S-Class are tailor-made BRABUS Monoblock alloy wheels with diameters of 19, 20 or even 21 inches. The largest tire/wheel combination on offer features forged and mirror-polished BRABUS "PLATINUM EDITION" Monoblock VI or Monoblock F cross-spoke wheels in size 9Jx21 on the front axle and in size 10.5Jx21 in the rear. The optimal tires come from Continental, Pirelli and YOKOHAMA in sizes 255/30 ZR 21 in front and 295/30 ZR 21 on the rear axle.

To be able to further improve the dynamic handling of the high-performance luxury sedan BRABUS has developed special control modules that lower the ride height of vehicles with AIRMATIC or Active Body Control suspension by about 15 millimeters (0.6 in.).
Unadulterated luxury and individuality in the interior is a particular BRABUS specialty. The range of options for the new S-Class spans from scuff plates with BRABUS logo to exclusive BRABUS 'fine leather' interiors crafted from especially soft yet durable BRABUS Mastik leather and the finest Alcantara. The new Mercedes S-Class can be further refined with a BRABUS multimedia system that is as exclusive as it is technologically innovative.

2013 Range Rover by Arden












Arden has gone for a wide body kit, designing four new over fenders for the Range Rover that are connected together with new, chunky side skirts, and complemented with a chin spoiler at the front and a diffuser featuring four tailpipes at the back.
The new Range Rover is a pretty sizable thing as it is. With this wide body kit on, it becomes a monster. Still, we can’t help but think that this treatment would be more suitable for the new Range Rover Sport. The Vogue is too serious and too majestic for a wide body.
A set of classic Arden wheels and a lowered suspension complete the package, and ruin the car’s off-road capabilities in the process.

2013 Lamborghini Veneno Inspired Aventador Roadster Rendered













Ever wondered what a possible Lamborghini Aventador Roadster fitted with some of the aerodynamic and exterior changes of the Lamborghini Veneno would look like? Well, LamboCARS has come to the rescue with their latest creation which places some of the most aggressive components of the Lamborghini Veneno onto a ‘regular’ Lamborghini Aventador Roadster.
Some of the key components carried over from the Lamborghini Veneno into this rendering are the front and rear bumpers, the massive rear wing, the carbon fiber side skirts as well as the insane carbon fiber wheels.
With a maximum output of 750hp, the Lamborghini Veneno accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds and the top speed for this street-legal racing car stands at 355 km/h.
The Lamborghini Veneno features a twelve-cylinder power unit with a displacement of 6.5-liters, an extremely fast-shifting 7-speed ISR transmission with 5 driving modes and permanent all-wheel drive, as well as a racing chassis with pushrod suspension and horizontal spring/damper units. Above all, however, the Veneno benefits from the very special expertise that Automobili Lamborghini possesses in the development and execution of carbon-fiber materials – the complete chassis is produced as a CFRP monocoque, as is the outer skin of this extreme sports car. The inside, too, features innovative, Lamborghini-patented materials such as Forged Composite and CarbonSkin.
While Lamborghini will never offer the Lamborghini Aventador Roadster with the Veneno’s bodykit, this does give us an indication of how the Lamborghini Veneno would look like as a roadster!

2012 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque Convertible Concept












The concept has been developed by Land Rover Design Director, Gerry McGovern and his team. McGovern said, "The Range Rover Evoque lends itself beautifully to the idea of a convertible. This study is not a traditional convertible design execution – instead we have worked with the balance of the Range Rover Evoque's lines to retain its distinctive shape and create something that is unique and, we believe, highly desirable."

The soft-top concept features a fully retractable premium roof system. An integrated Roll Over Protection System lets the top come down without relaxing safety concerns. This concept cleverly joins capability and versatility in a package that is unmistakably Land Rover. Key characteristics including a sports command driving position and all-terrain capability firmly link this study in design back to its hard-top heritage. 

Classically, Land Rover has been about the best way to explore roads, trails and untracked surfaces of all kinds. Now exploration continues… upward.

2013 Ferrari 458 Spider Elegante by DMC


                                                   



DMC has traditionally been famous for Lamborghini, but their recent take on the F12 Ferrari was a big hit which made the luxury tuner hungry for more. By releasing the 458 Spider "Elegante" today, the Germans continue their take to catch market share in the red quarter.
Let's start with the candies, DMC's 458 Performance Package, and the Forged Rims:
The standard 458 Italia comes with 570 PS, but that's just too kind for the tuners from Duesseldorf. DMC have developed a performance package that pushes the the Stallion from Modena to the 608 PS mark, a strength which enables the car to reach peak torque of 568 Nm. This newly gained power, is in largely achieved thanks to a remapped engine management system for optimized ignition and injection, and their Stainless Steel Exhaust.
All this is supported by a new set of forged Rims and Sport Springs: Designed as an upgrade to the OEM wheels, DMC decided to develop for a combination of 21" at the front and 22" at the rear. This does not only further add to the picture of a Lion waiting for its prey, but also improves the overall handling. And even though they are larger than their OEM siblings, they are some of the lightest found, because of their forged alloy nature. The sport springs finalize the new appearance by supporting the new weight-ratio and handling. The front is using Pirelli Sport Tires in dimensions of 255/30, while the rear has the 12x22 dimension in dimensions 335/25. It is crucial to mention that DMC is using the highest-grade 3 piece wheels made of forged alloy, which can be ordered in either Virgin Gold or any other finish that the exclusive clientele sees fit.
The Body Kit, is a massive improvement upon the OEM look. Following DMC tradition, it features an whole new, aggressive new look, which is put together by a complete aerodynamic package:
The front features a prominent new lip splitter, which not only extends the car, but also improves the overall road stability.
The front hood is completely replaced with an aggressive vented version, the extended side skirts not only add to a better road stability by using a pair of diffuser plates, but also stand out with flaps that match the ones that are also found on the front splitter. The trunk receives a blade wing, which was designed to suit aerodynamic flow on top as well as under it. Carbon Fiber mirrors, front wings, rear diffusers and fog light covers add the exclusive touch that we know from the High-End refiner.
It's worthwhile to mention that DMC guarantees again no visible damage by using their components, the car can be, at any time, be returned to the OEM look, which can be useful.
The package is finalized with exclusive interior refinements using italian fine leathers and carbon finer. Plenty of buttons and trims are available as a small package, a redesigned steering wheel adds on to complete a medium package or the whole interior can be redone for the VIP package. Small and Medium Projects can be done remotely, but the car needs to be shipped to Germany if a whole interior make-over is requested.

2011 Carlsson Mercedes SL 65 AMG C25 Royale


The Carlsson C25 officially debuted last year at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show, and this year it’s back in Geneva with more goodies and an even cooler name. The Super GT C25 Royale is a tuning project based on the Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG. It includes an abundance of carbon fiber elements, as well as optimized driving dynamics and perfected electronics. Carlsson will only build 25 units of the C25 Royale, one unit for each country the vehicle will be sold in.
"There are more than enough super cars around that can only be driven safely on a racing track", says engineer Markus Schuster, Managing Director at Carlsson. "We deliberately wanted to develop a car that is exclusive on the one hand but can still be used for the daily commute to the office. A Super GT which can go from 0 to 100 kph in just 3.7 seconds while at the same time offering the utmost in ride comfort.
