1965 Mercedes-Benz 300SE Coupe
Seller's description
In contrast to the very striking tail fins of the sedan, the design of the coupe seemed a bit more timeless from the beginning on. The 300SE profited from everything Mercedes had to offer. The air suspension, developed together with Bosch, 4 disc brakes, as well as the three liter line six-cylinder with aluminum head from the SL, however, without direct injection. Over a period of five years Mercedes worked on a new four-speed automatic transmission, which replaced the Borg-Warner boxes that Mercedes had to buy from a supplier until then. In this make the 300 SE took over the top spot in Mercedes' model range in spring 1962, which it had to surrender to the 600 two years later. The interior is dominated by an abundance of wood and leather. Accordingly, the 300 SE is a very luxurious touring car. Additionally, the maximum speed of 195 km/h underlines the premium standard of this beautiful coupe.
