1989 Mercedes-Benz 560 SEL

Seller's description

The Mercedes S type from the model series W126 was one of the most successful models within this series. It replaced the series W 116, which was built for more than eight years, in 1979 and was the company's most successful prototype for more than 10 years. Up until today Mercedes uses the S type series for the same purpose. Novelties such as TCS or driver and passenger airbag were part of the endless list of extras. As the car was popular with chiefs of state and with the rich and the beautiful, other features such as telephone, fax, refrigerator or even a mobile office could be built in against extra charge. The variants 560 SEC and 560 SEL, available for export only, were the strongest cars by Mercedes at that time. As far as their look was concerned, there were also many differences from those models made for the domestic market. Owed to different permission regulations, the bumper bars were bigger, the head lamps modified and the rear lights had position lights at their side.

The 560SEL offered here was original delivered to Japan. After the car was re-imported from Japan to Germany early this year, it got new tires and its air condition was checked in May. This original car, its original finish largely preserved, has passed vehicle inspection.
