1973 Porsche 911 for sale EUR 160,000

Seller's description

This car was delivered new on 12 April 1973 to a Mr David Bearen in San Diego, who had ordered the car in metallic blue 8410 with beige vinyl interior and Recaro seats as an option, as confirmed on the certificate of authenticity from the Porsche factory. The stamps in the original logbook show that Bearen maintained the car meticulously, before selling it in 1980 to Howard McCluan, who worked in Financial Systems in San Diego. The latter used the car regularly until 1983, when health reasons led him to keep it stored and undriven for a period of five years. This is confirmed by correspondence dated 14 May 1988, when the car was sold. The new owner was Scott Shepard, from Jacksonville in Wyoming, who acquired the car through the marque specialist Steve Hall. Having not been used for some time, re-commissioning work was required, and bills for this are in the file.

In 1990 Shepard restored the car, replacing the engine with a more powerful 2.7-litre version, and re-upholstering the interior. Seven years later it was sold to an enthusiast by the name of Percy Lundgren, who remained the owner for 19 years, until 2014. In 2003 he had the original engine completely refurbished and re-fitted (n633 0393). Finally, in 2011, after eight years of intensive use, he carried out a high level restoration that included over 400 hours of work to the body, a complete refurbishment of the interior and an engine re-build. Lundgren then decided to part with his car after a further 6,500 km, saying that he had gone too far with the restoration and no longer dared to drive his favourite car ! A French racing driver acquired it in 2013 and had the car brought to France. Since then, this Porsche 911 has been converted to comply with European regulations (front and rear lights, indicators, bumpers).
This Porsche 911 2.4 S is one of the most highly sought-after versions of the iconic model. The top quality restoration, continuous history and low number of owners - all enthusiasts - make it even more desirable. It is being sold with a comprehensive history file.
