2012 Lamborghini Gallardo LP 550-2

Seller's description

MODEL HISTORY

The Lamborghini Gallardo is a sports car built by Lamborghini from 2003 to 2013. It is Lamborghini’s best-selling model with 14,022 being built throughout its lifetime. Named after a famous breed of fighting bull, the V-10 Gallardo has been Lamborghini’s sales leader and stable-mate to a succession of V-12 flagship models—first to the Lamborghini Murciélago (4,099 built between 2001 and 2011), then to the current flagship Lamborghini Aventador.
Following the LP 550-2 Valentino Balboni and LP 550-2 Bicolore special editions, the LP 550-2 Coupé was offered by Lamborghini in the 2011 model year. The rear-wheel drive LP 550-2 Coupé was distinguished by unique black side skirts and “LP 550-2″ badging, suspension tuning borrowed from the Valentino Balboni edition and came equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission; E-gear was also available as a cost option.
On November 25, 2013, the last Gallardo was rolled off the production line, to be replaced by the new Huracan.

EQUIPMENT

LHD, Reversing camera, ESP CORSA, Trip computer, Extended leather to doors, dash and headling, E Gear / Paddle shift transmission, FM / AM Radio with CD, Electric mirrors.

EXTERIOR

The Balloon white paintwork shows in wonderful condition and is a perfectly complimentary match to the angular and aggressive lines of this raging bull.
The exterior is book ended by upgraded (and rather expensive) alluring carbon fibre elements; the front bumper, a Vorsteiner carbon fibre masterpiece, is beautifully crafted with sharp lines that build on the shape of the standard car. The rear diffuser / bumper arrangement has also been extended with an identical lightweight compound and together with a rear Superleggera spoiler markedly offsets the clean and bright bodywork with significant styling enhancement.
The styling promotion brought together here is quite spectacular with black wheels, mirrors and swathes of carbon looking suitably menacing against a pure white backdrop. Tactful detail to the brake calipers to match the interior pulls the design together very nicely.

INTERIOR

The typical Lamborghini flair and exuberance rings true inside with the distinctive Lamborghini racing colours adjoining the black leather; an accomplished marriage of luxury and tradition. The focused interior not only considers performance but also plenty of comfort and style, which becomes apparent as you climb over the Gallardo emblazoned sill strips and sink into the Nero Perseus leather and an excellent driving position. Orange stitching frames the flowing dash arrangement with the 3 auxiliary dials sitting pride of place in the driver’s eye, whilst extended leather to sills, headlining and dash further define the sophisticated cabin.
The orange motif continues to feature through the black leather seats all of which remain soft and supple with no wear or marks to report.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION

Upon ignition there is no doubt that this is serious business as the car barks into life and settles immediately to a V10 warble, a quick pull of the right paddle shift engages 1st gear and the car pulls away with a minimum of fuss – no shunt or hesitation. A Sports exhaust amplifies the V10 howl perfectly; totally addictive as you press on with just a careful reminder that this only has the 2 drive shafts, not four!
Without doubt one of the most scintillating exhaust notes of any production car we have seen here, the delight at building through the rev range is equally matched by a perfect downshift, significantly crisp, clear and wholly satisfying. CORSA and SPORT buttons offer further flexibility between the marriage of electronics and contact patch, whilst the car can be respectably pared down with the fully auto’box option.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES

The 19 inch Apollo wheels present impeccably with the traditional black and gold badges offering up further attractive detail. The wheels are wrapped in nearly new Pirelli P Zero’s all round.
The orange calipers present neatly whilst performance is excellent; operating with good pedal feel and modulation in pulling the car up with minimal dive, pitch or pull.
