2013 McLaren MP4-VX by Vorsteiner

Vorsteiner’s latest release of the striking McLaren MP4-VX marks our entry into the revered McLaren tuning world with their new clay modeling and 3D digital rendering program.

In a religious effort to stay true to the McLaren brand, the designers kept as many of the existing MP4 body lines intact as possible while enhancing the original design to an edgier and more aggressive form. The designers also took into account everyday driveability and functionality with each body part and made great effort to maximize ground clearance while improving overall aerodynamics and appearance.

The MP4-VX program also features our latest in one-piece aluminum forged wheel technology. The wheels were engineered to be specifically load rated for the weight of this McLaren so that weight savings could be maximized during the CNC milling process without any compromises in safety. The new wheels are 20x9J and 21x12J in size with 245/25/20 and 325/30/21 tire dimensions to keep the car well planted around corners.

The MP4-VX program is composed of:

• Carbon Fiber Front Bumper with dual air duct system and side ventilation louvers
• Carbon Fiber Add-On Front Spoiler
• Carbon Fiber Rear Bumper with dual ventilation louvers & central vent opening
• Carbon Fiber Rear Diffuser with integrated Dual Diffuser Tunnels
• 4 Piece Carbon Fiber Side Skirt blade with floating front fin element

Starting at the front, the McLaren MP4-VX showcases a completely redesigned nose made entirely out of the latest dry carbon fiber pre-preg autoclave technology. This new front end consists of a full replacement bumper cover with features such as a completely redesigned air ducting system, side vent elements and a separate front spoiler that aids in increasing front end downforce. The bumpers, like all Vorsteiner original products, utilize existing factory mounting hardware and each piece is 100% reversible if the vehicle ever needs to be returned back to its stock form.

The most visually striking component of the MP4-VX kit is undoubtedly the replacement carbon fiber rear bumper cover and rear diffuser element. The optical carbon fiber rear bumper also features two ventilation louvers on the side and one in the center to assist with heat dissipation from the engine and exhaust. The new carbon and kevlar reinforced composite rear diffuser features race inspired tunnels to further improve airflow and keep the rear end planted against the road surface with larger mesh perimeter opening to further assist in cooling the engine temperature.

Lastly, the vehicle receives improved airflow dynamics with our four-piece carbon fiber side blade elements, giving the vehicle a lower and more aggressive stance while improving downforce at high speeds.

2013 Spyker B6 Venator Spyder Concept

Monterey, California, 16 August, 2013 – Spyker N.V. (“Spyker”) today revealed the Spyder version of its new exotic sports car, the Spyker B6 Venator, at a press conference in Pebble Beach, California.

Just five months after unveiling the B6 Venator Coupe Concept to rave reviews at the 83rd International Geneva Motor Show, Spyker – creator of meticulously hand built automobiles whose beauty is equaled only by their unrivaled craftsmanship – made waves on the other side of the Atlantic. Today the brand introduced the SPYKER B6 VENATOR SPYDER Concept, a unique alternative in the High Luxury Sports sector, via a press conference at The Quail Motorsports Gathering in Pebble Beach, California. The SPYKER B6 VENATOR SPYDER Concept is the eagerly awaited convertible execution of Spyker’s compact, 2-door mid-engine sports car that will offer the discerning driver of the highest standards a new choice, delivering a rare combination of heritage, design, performance and exclusivity.

Chief Executive Officer Victor R. Muller chose The Quail as the site for the SPYKER B6 VENATOR SPYDER Concept’s worldwide premiere because, “It is the car’s natural habitat. Car enthusiasts from around the globe descend upon exquisitely beautiful Pebble Beach for the Concours d’Elegance weekend, and The Quail Motorsports Gathering is the most exclusive event of all.” Designed by Muller, the SPYKER B6 VENATOR SPYDER Concept incorporates vintage cues of the brand’s aviation past, highly detailed design and bespoke materials into a defiantly contemporary statement that could only come from Spyker. The company’s Latin axiom “Nulla tenaci invia est via” – “For the tenacious no road is impassable” – is tastefully featured on the exterior. The name “Venator” is Latin for “Hunter,” a nod back to Spyker’s “Hunter” fighter aircraft of the early 20th century.

Exterior highlights include:
The trademark radiator grille’s mesh is V-shaped, referencing Spyker models of the previous century. The 1903 Spyker logo harkens back to an era when Spyker built racers such as the amazing 60HP.
The headlights, equipped with LED light rails, give the car an aggressive stance.
The 3D LED rear lights are akin to the iris-type after burners of a jet engine from a modern fighter aircraft.
The brake light has been sculpted into the rear panel design to ensure smooth, flowing design lines.
Elegantly aggressive 19” TurbofanTM wheels are shown in mirror polish finish.
The brand’s axiom “Nulla tenaci invia est via” – which translates to “For the tenacious no road is impassable” – is shown on the fairings.Interior highlights include:
Interior surroundings crafted from the finest materials are unusually open and airy for a sports car, akin to an aeroplane cockpit. The leather is sourced from the Litano range produced by the Royal Hulshof Dutch Tanneries in Lichtenvoorde, Netherlands. Hulshof uses only West European first choice bull hides and a special tanning process that produces the beautifully rich colour palette.
The red cover on the ignition switch evokes the spirit of starting an aeroplane, as does the dashboard that lights up as part of the ‘pre-flight check.’ The dashboard is shown with a turned aluminium fascia, similar to those seen on Spykers of the 1920s.
Pressing the engine start button brings to life a powerful V6 engine that delivers 375+ bhp.
The trademark exposed gear change mechanism was inspired by early aircraft controls from Spyker’s aviation heritage.

The SPYKER B6 VENATOR SPYDER Concept will begin production in late 2014 for key markets including Europe, the Middle East, Asia Pacific and India, followed by the US in early 2015.

The introduction of the SPYKER B6 VENATOR Concept at Geneva earlier this year marked the beginning of a new era for the brand, one that will include a significant increase in production led by a management team that has never been stronger. The SPYKER B6 VENATOR SPYDER Concept represents the next key step on that path, which is being spearheaded by Muller and his Chief Commercial Officer John Walton. Together, Muller and Walton are leading a passionate team that is supremely dedicated to creating unique and beautiful highperformance sports luxury cars.

According to Walton, “Reaction to the coupe version in Geneva was so overwhelmingly positive that we accelerated our initial plan to deliver the SPYKER B6 VENATOR SPYDER Concept. This is an exquisite drop-top that begs to be driven on the Pacific Coast Highway – yet will provide more exclusivity than any other sports car it will pass on the road.” The SPYKER B6 VENATOR SPYDER Concept will provide the authentic Spyker experience – hand-crafted rarity that is as visceral to view as it is to drive – at a more accessible price point of approximately $150,000. “The SPYKER B6 VENATOR COUPE and SPYDER Concepts are the immediate future of Spyker,” said Muller.

2013 Ferrari F12berlinetta by Novitec Rosso

An athletic design in combination with outstanding aerodynamic efficiency, high-tech forged wheels and a power increase to 569 kW / 774 hp with a top speed in excess of 345 km/h: NOVITEC ROSSO, the leading refinement specialist for the sports cars from Maranello, expands its extensive customization program for the Ferrari F12berlinetta.

Painted or clear-coated carbon fibers with a matt finish like in Formula One or with a high-sheen surface sealer: the NOVITEC ROSSO designers lend the current top-of-the-line model in the Ferrari product range an even more sporty appearance. Its development not only focused on the car’s looks: all bodywork components received their finishing touches in the wind tunnel and consequently optimize the sports car’s handling stability.

To further minimize negative lift on the front axle, NOVITEC ROSSO offers a three-piece aerodynamics upgrade, which consists of a front spoiler lip with attached air ducts and a central front blade. The upgrade increases downforce in the front at high speeds. But that’s not all: the spoilers in conjunction with the new surrounds for the brake air scoops, the hood insert and the front grille lend the F12 an even more striking nose.

The new rocker panels calm the airstream between the front and rear wheel arches and add some more visual muscle to the sports car’s appearance. The carbon-fiber covers for the exterior mirrors and the black side markers stylishly round out the view from the side.

The NOVITEC ROSSO designers’ marks are also clearly in evidence in the rear: despite its discrete appearance the rear separation edge is a factor in the optimal aerodynamic balance of the F12berlinetta as is the rear diffuser. The latter attaches to the production rear fascia and can be further enhanced visually with optional diffuser fins and a fascia cover made from clear-coated carbon fibers. The great love of detail is also evident in the carbon-fiber surrounds for the rear fog lamps and the tail lights, which in the spirit of the best NOVITEC ROSSO traditions are available in black.

A crucial role in the thrilling appearance of the Ferrari refined by NOVITEC ROSSO is of course played by the wheels that were custom-developed for this car. To further emphasize the wedge shape of the F12, NOVITEC ROSSO developed two tire/wheel combinations with staggered wheels, 21-inch wheels on the front axle and 22-inch rims in back.

In addition to the appearance, the performance specifications for the product engineers also demanded even more precise handling. The NOVITEC ROSSO NF4 high-tech forged wheels, which are available in any desired color, are among the lightest of their kind in the world. Their design features five delicate double spokes and thanks to their low weight they reduce unsprung mass, a crucial factor in the even more agile handling. The NOVITEC ROSSO NF4 9.5Jx21 wheels in front are fitted with Pirelli high-performance tires in size 255/30 ZR 21. Size 12Jx22 rear wheels with 335/25 ZR 22 tires ensure maximum traction.

Three-piece NOVITEC ROSSO NF3 alloys are available as an alternative for the F12berlinetta. They are mounted in size 9.5Jx21 on the front axle and in size 12Jx22 in the rear and feature the same size tires as the forged wheels. There rims also have an impressive design that features five double spokes and polished rim flanges. Like for all wheels NOVITEC ROSSO offers individual color schemes including outer flanges with a carbon-fiber finish.

The NOVITEC ROSSO sports springs lower the ride height of the Ferrari by up to 40 millimeters. The lower center of gravity further adds to handling agility. To make it possible to navigate past speed humps or parking garage ramps without problems, NOVITEC ROSSO offers a hydraulic lift system for the front axle. At the push of a button in the cockpit the front of cars can be raised, and returned to its original level by pressing the button a second time. The car also reverts to its normal ride height automatically upon reaching a speed of 80 km/h.

Another NOVITEC ROSSO domain is the creation of powerful performance kits for Ferrari sports cars. After the power therapy the 6.3-liter V12 of the F12berlinetta produces an extra 25 kW / 34 hp. The extra horses come courtesy of an upgrade to the engine management system with newly calibrated mapping for injection and ignition. In addition, a NOVITEC ROSSO high-performance exhaust system with metal catalysts, available with or without controlled butterfly valve, is installed.

The NOVITEC ROSSO engine tuning not only offers a higher maximum power output of 569 kW / 774 hp at 8,500 rpm and a peak torque increased to 716 Nm at 6,300 rpm. Increasing the redline speed to 8,900 rpm also results in even shorter gear steps for the seven-speed F1 dual clutch transmission. Furthermore, top speed increases to more than 345 km/h.

It goes without saying that the NOVITEC ROSSO sport exhaust systems are also available separately without the performance kit. The versions with controlled butterfly valve give drivers of the F12berlinetta the option of manually switching the exhaust note with the manettino button of the steering wheel between discrete and markedly sporty.

NOVITEC ROSSO also offers exclusive refinement of the interior. The product portfolio ranges from carbon-fiber shift paddles to a designer interior crafted from leather and Alcantara in any desired color and upholstery style.

2013 BMW M6 F13 by G-Power

Modifications to the electronic control unite in combination with a high-flow exhaust system made from Titanium are pushing the power output of the G-POWER M6 to 710 hp and 890 Nm

The BMW M6 is already a powerful sports coupé when it is delivered from the factory, thus a large portion of its potential stays unrevealed. G-POWER is using this hidden potential for a power output enhancement of awesome 150 hp and 210 Nm of torque. The G-POWER Bi-Tronik III V2 pushes the factory 560 hp/ 680 Nm to 710 hp/ 890 Nm. 21 inch G-POWER “HURRICANE” alloy wheels with MICHELIN Pilot Super Sport tyres in the dimension 265/30 ZR 21 and 305/25 ZR 21, G-POWER coil-over suspension, Titanium exhaust system and the G-POWER Ceramic Braking System complete the G-POWER package for the BMW M6 F13.
G-POWER M6 F13

• 710 hp / 522 kW at 6.000 - 7.000 rpm (+ 150 hp / 110 kW)
• 890 Nm at 4.800 rpm (+ 210 Nm)
• V-max: >300 km/h
• 0-200 km/h: 10,8s
• G-POWER 21’’ forged wheel set HURRICANE
• G-POWER Titanium exhaust system
• G-POWER coil-over suspension GM6-RS
• G-POWER Ceramic Braking System

The G-POWER program for the BMW M6 F13 touches all key components and lets the nifty BMW M6 appear even more sporty and beautiful and makes it, last but not least, a lot faster. In order to implement this target the G-POWER engineering department has transferred its experience from the area of supercharging to the turbocharged BMW 4.4l V8 engine. After all, the ASA supercharger used for the G-POWER supercharger systems is closely related to the turbochargers featured by BMW, since both units us a centrifugal compressor to build up boost.

The basis for the electronic output increase is the fact that G-POWER, in contrast to the manufacturer, does not use standard software full of compromises but an individual solution for the engine. Among others, the parameters for the amount of fuel and the ignition timing are modified depending on the increased boost level.

However, gone are the days in which the development of an electronic power output increase has been finished at this point. G-POWER has made almost the same invest in time, money and manpower in developing supporting measures to the power output increase itself, with a particular focus on the transmission. Based on the competence and knowledge coming from the up to 800 hp strong BMW M5 HURRICANE versions, G-POWER has managed to limit the torque figures during the shifting process and so reduces the stress for the transmission. This effort shows the difference in quality of the G-POWER electronic power output increase when compared to the competition. Just pushing the output fingers is something many can do; G-POWER is providing a well balanced, high-quality package for the power output increase of the BMW M6.

But not just the ECU management has been modified by G-POWER in order to achieve a power output of 710 hp, the exhaust system has been substantially reworked as well to provide for an output optimized back pressure. The modification of the exhaust system cover catalysts replacement pipes (downpipes) and a G-POWER Titanium exhaust system, incl. Titanium link pipes with resonators starting from the down pipe. In addition to the power output increase the G-POWER Titanium exhaust system gives the BMW M6 a deep, throaty sound that turns heads but is at now time annoying and at the same time saves approx. 12 kg compared to the stock exhaust system. The G-POWER exhaust system is available with four Titanium or Carbon Tailpipes with a diameter of 100 mm each.

In result the G-POWER Bi-Tronik III V2 pushes the BMW M6’s standard output of 560 hp / 680 Nm to an awesome 710 hp and 890 Nm of torque. Naturally the performance figures benefit from this output increase, as well. The figure from stand still to 200 km/h is now just 10,8 seconds and the top speed is more than 300 km/h.

Concerning the suspension at first one will notice the 21 inch G-POWER HURRICANE forged wheels, wrapped with tyres from the G-POWER’s technology partner MICHELIN in the dimensions 265/30 ZR 21 and 305/25 ZR 21. The double spokes, typical for the G-POWER design, highlight the elegant design of the new BMW M6. Further improvement of the road handling is realized through the continuously height-adjustable G-POWER coil-over suspension GM6-RS with nine selectable settings each for bound and rebound.

Of course the negative acceleration is in the focus of G-POWER, as well. Even without output increase, the standard braking system may lose brake force when pushed to the limit, accompanied by a moving braking point, the so called fading effect. The perfect cure against the fading effect is a G-POWER Braking System. With its six brake pistons and 420 mm brake disc diameter for the front axle the G-POWER Braking System enables a substantially higher brake force than the standard braking system. At the same time, the heat generated due to the braking process can be dissipated more effectively. The G-POWER brake package is completed by brake pads with a larger pad area, higher friction rate as well as metal-coated brake lines. With this set-up, the G-POWER Braking System always provides maximum brake force and the braking point remains precise in any case. In addition the G-POWER ceramic braking system reduces the unsprung mass by 50% percent, compared to a system with steel brake discs. Accordingly the cornering and road handling is improved significantly.

The cost for the 21 inch G-POWER HURRICANE complete wheel set incl. MICHELIN Pilot Sport tyres in the dimension 265/30 ZR 21 and 305/25 ZR 21 is 8.325,00 €, the G-POWER coil-over suspension GM6-RS is 2.179,83,00 €, the G-POWER Ceramic braking system for the front axle is 14.460,50 Euro. The output increase with the help of the G-POWER BI-TRONIK III V2 including a G-POWER Titanium exhaust system is 17.895,00 € including the individual adjustment of to the specific customer car.
G-POWER:

Since the company’s founding in 1983, it has focused solely on the tuning of BMW cars and the production of exclusive, handcrafted vehicles. 2013 BMW E91 330d by BBM Motorsport

The company BBM Motorsport based in Senden in the region of Münsterland – specialist in performance tuning – can be found in the outstanding domain on the Internet www.leistungsloch.de.

And – it may have occurred to several brilliant minds – the name of the domain can be seen as an absolute antonym to the philosophy of the company: No vehicle leaves a BBM workshop with a performance lag!

One example of the work of BBM technicians is the project vehicle E91 330d shown here. It was namely pushed to a performance of 274 horse power and a maximum torque of good 859 Newton meters (standard series is 231 horse power / 520 Nm) using a BBM chip tuning system that was developed on the basis of the company’s own Dynojet 224xLC performance test platform. In addition to software optimisation, a decisive share of the power boost can also be attributed to the complete Supersprint exhaust system as from the Turbo version and the Pipercross air filter.

The BMW station wagon was fitted with a KW Street Comfort coilover kit for a convincing long distance comfort to facilitate a spinal disk-friendly drive also in combination with the 8x19 and 9x19 inches BBS CH-R rims and the 225/35 and 225/30 tyres.

Of course, such a project vehicle should also be able to attract attention – a reason for SFT Carwrap from Ibbenbüren to give it a “somewhat“ conspicuous look: The full wrapping with matt red foil highlighted in matt black makes the Touring a real eye catcher! To match the general colour pattern, the BMW emblems and the side markers were tinted in dark shade. Even the interior strips were adapted to the look of the exterior with matt red wrapping.

FM-Coding from Telgte also endowed the three-series with a pair of electrical and electronic goodies: It now has side markers and daytime running lights, a digital speed display system and a comfort eject function, which automatically ejects the car key as soon as the “Engine off“ button is pressed.

By the way, the Dynojet Live stream, through which the BBM team can be observed fully unabashed is brand new on the BBM homepage. And, quite honestly: Could there be anything more beautiful than watching other people doing their job? It surely pays to take a look at www.leistungsloch.de!

2012 Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 by Capristo

When Capristo Exhaust Systems sets out to work on top-of-the line sports cars with roaring engines and spectacular styling, you can be sure that the result will be a further improvement of an already impressive dream car, with better power-to-weight ratio, additional power and sophisticated details taking it to another level both visually and functionally.

The most recent object to undergo thorough optimization by thoughtful and perfectly crafted engineering solutions is the Aventador LP 700. This powerhouse from legendary Italian sports car maker Lamborghini has most to gain from the Capristo treatment by an improved power-to-weight ratio. Here, we will introduce you to the details of the project
The Lamborghini Aventador LP 700 in the workshop at Capristo Exhaust Systems

The Lamborghini Aventador was first revealed to the public in March 2011. The stage of the Geneva Car Show was deemed grand enough to present the successor to the Lamborghini Murciélago. The spectacular self-supporting body is largely made from carbon-fiber reinforced plastics. With 90kg less weight than its predecessor, it still weighs in at a hefty 1575kg. The car is powered by a roaring 6500cc-engine producing a staggering 700hp (515kw), giving it a power-to-weight ratio of 3,06 kg/kW or 2,25 kg/hp. The all-wheel-drive Aventador also sports a newly designed ISR gearbox able to shift gears within a fracture of a second. Experiences from motor sports construction can be found everywhere on the Aventador, making it a true road-going sports car.

In the spring of 2012, we brought the Aventador to our workshop at Sundern. As a specialist for performance-optimizing high value vehicles, we examined the powerful Italian for potential performance enhancements, particularly in the area of weight reduction. A wealth of experience, professional engineering and a lot of enthusiasm were necessary to get the car, which had already been reduced in weight compared to the Murciélago, even closer to an ideal power-to-weight ratio. After careful study, it was determined that the power-to-weight ratio could be improved by fitting additional carbon parts. In the end, we also installed a new exhaust system which also brings performance advantages for the 12-cylinder engine.

Piece by piece, the Lamborghini was stripped down to its components. Although the self-supporting body is mostly made from carbon fiber-reinforced plastics, we still found quite a large array of parts to be optimized regarding weight reduction, specifically among attachment and panelling parts, as well as air intakes and vents. We dissected the Aventador right down to the exhaust system, which we will tell you about later. In any case, we found many parts could be manufactured in carbon fiber, which led to a noticeable weight reduction and consequently an improved power-to-weight ratio. As is usually the case when we go about optimizing a car, the main aim with the Lamborghini Aventador LP700 was making it lighter by replacing as many components as possible with parts made from a different material, but of identical shape and construction, without changing the overall shape of the vehicle. Keeping this in mind, we reproduced components in light yet robust full carbon. While the colouring is different, owing to the properties of the material, the shape is exactly the same, so that the visual appearance of the car is not aversely affected in any way. To the contrary, some of our components actually look more impressive than their factory-made counterparts. This is especially true for the outside mirror casings and the rear wing, but also for other external parts such as the diffusor, front and side intakes and rear vents. Of course, we did not leave out the grille and front lip, and even the air vents above the front trunk now sport a slick carbon look.

While most tuners would consider their job done at this point, at Capristo, this is where the real work starts. It is customary for us to not only deal with the exterior, but also pay attention to the inner working of the car. A look under the trunk lid made it clear that additional room for performance enhancement by weight reduction was present here, leading us to replace the trunk liner panelling with carbon fibre, while the trunk liner itself remained untouched. Engine compartment panels were also replaced, with lightweight carbon panels now rendering the original plastic ones superfluous.

Finally, we also reworked the exhaust gas routing of the 12-cylinder engine. The result is an exhaust system made of highly durable 1.4828 stainless steel in a brilliant mirror finish. It comes with new exhaust flaps as well as a remote control included in every Capristo exhaust system kit. With the exhaust systems, we demonstrated what professional modifications can achieve even with a state of the art supercar.
Impressive changes, Impressive effects

The changes to the exhaust system of the Aventador result in small but measurable performance increases of the 6,5-litre engine. 0-100 km/h can now be reached in 2,8 seconds, 1/10th of a second faster than before. Top speed is raised by 3km/h compared to factory specs, to a staggering total of 354km/h

Even more pronounced of exchanging plastic components with 100% carbon-fiber one. The overall weight is reduced by 40kg, which mainly affects power-to-weight ratio. Of course, it also leads to fuel savings, but with an average consumption of 17 liters per 100km, this is probably not a top priority. Owners of an Aventador LP 700 very probably did not buy it with the aim of saving fuel in mind, since there are many other cars much more appropriate for this purpose.

Another chapter is added to the Lamborghini myth with the Aventador LP700, which already filled the order books one year before first delivery. We at Capristo have demonstrated with the newest Lamborghini that meaningful changes are possible without changing the overall shape of a car. It was merely intelligent analysis of weight and materials that enabled us to make even a top-of-the-line sports car even lighter and faster.

If you want perfection in you Aventador 700LP, not only in regards to driving pleasure and the thrill of speed, there is no way past the performance enhancements and weight reduction provided by Capristo Exhaust Systems. Fully functional, with sophisticated materials and visually true to the original, the exchangeable carbon parts offer a double-digit weight reduction. With this, the project goal of performance enhancement trough weight reduction has been fully and professionally attained.

Even more is to come in the future: Our engineers are not yet fully satisfied with the achieved optimizations to the Lamborghini Aventador 700LP. Further work on the underbody, the wheel housings and the sills is on the agenda, to save even more weight. This will not turn Lamborghinis raging bull into a docile lamb, but into a supercar with an even better balance of weight and power.

2013 Camal Tributo Concept

Camal Studios states:

"Stylistic influence is born from the famous Ghibli, Bora and Kashmin, and creates a new interpretation of “Trident” grand touring. The Fastback body was a natural choice for underlining the sporting character of the brand. Our intention was to merge a strong character with the essential characteristics of quality, comfort and elegance, that are typical of Maserati. We looked for inspiration in our Turin car design heritage, and the work of best car designers from the past, in order to meet the most rigorous, structure design technics. A balance is achieved through use of simple sections along the central part of the car. The protruding wheel arches are reminiscent of the powerful V8 of ‘60s and ‘70s from overseas, reinforcing the visual impact of the car body that lives and enhances the symbiosis, with the basic architecture. The front and the rear are treated and embellished only in a functional way, thus emphasizing the simple and sculptural shapes, that makes Tributo an exercise in elegance, with a strong identity."

2013 Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse Jean Pierre Wimille Limited Edition

Bugatti will be introducing the Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse Legend Jean-Pierre Wimille special edition next month during the Monterey Auto Week in California.
It's a bit tricky to keep up with the endless string of special edition Veyrons and now it's even more difficult as Bugatti has prepared another exclusive Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse. Limited to three units, the Legend Jean-Pierre Wimille special edition honors the driver who triumphed at 24 Hours of Le Mans for Bugatti in 1937 co-driving a 57G Tank with Robert Benoist. He also won in 1939 while co-driving a 57C Tank with Pierre Veyron.
As a reference to the 57G from 1937 Le Mans, this Grand Vitesse has a blue clear-coated carbon fiber finish with a light Wimille Bleu paint job. The interior cabin is home to several details echoing some characteristics of classic models driven by these important names.
The Legend Jean-Pierre Wimille special edition will make its public debut at the Monterey Auto Week in California next month. It will be showcased on August 16 at The Quail: A Motorsports Gathering and two days later at The Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.
The car is part of a six-model "Legend" lineup which will pay homage to the company's most important names. All six of them will be based on the Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse which inWorld Record Car Edition guise is the fastest convertible ever made, managing to hit a top speed of 254.04 mph (408.84 km/h).

1937 Bugatti Type 57G Tank

The Bugatti Type 57G Tank was built in Molsheim in 1936 and 1937. Only three cars were produced at the Bugatti manufacturing plant in the Alsace. With these racing cars, Bugatti aimed to lead the world of French motor racing to new victories, as at that time only foreign brands were constantly winning.
Jean Bugatti, son of the company founder Ettore Bugatti, pushed through an initiative to develop a sports car which could be used for long distance competitions. In order to ensure the lowest possible centre of gravity, it was decided to combine the standard type 57S chassis with the Bugatti 3.3-liter row eight cylinder and a wheelbase of 2.98 m. The engine of the 57G Tank delivers approximately 200 hp and, thanks to the aerodynamically designed body, could quickly reach higher speeds than that of the competitors at the time.
The car was on the road to success from the very beginning, with Jean-Pierre Wimille a fixture at the wheel. His first victories in the 57G Tank were won in 1936 at the Grand Prix de l'A.C.F in Montlhéry and the Grand Prix de la Marne.
For the Le Mans 24 hour race on July 19 and 20th, 1937, Bugatti registered two racing cars of this type. The first car was driven by test drivers Pierre Veyron and Roger Labric, with Jean-Pierre Wimille and Robert Benoist taking control of the second Tank. After only a short while, Wimille took the lead and ultimately won the race with an average speed of 136.99 km/h (84 mph) and a total distance of 3,287.938 km (2,043 miles). Thus, he was able to claim Bugatti's very first victory in this legendary race, and became a brand legend himself.

2013 Brabus Mercedes Benz ML63 AMG SUV

World Debut at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show: BRABUS refines Mercedes ML 63 AMG456.3 kW / 620 hp (611 bhp) of power and a peak torque of 820 Nm (604 lb-ft) give it a top speed of up to 300 km/h (186 mph). The spectacular WIDESTAR wide-body version in conjunction with forged 23-inch wheels set it far apart from the masses: BRABUS refines the Mercedes ML 63 AMG!

There is no such thing as enough power and consequently the BRABUS engine specialists have developed performance tuning for the 5.5-liter V8 Biturbo engine of the latest ML 63 AMG: the B63-620 performance kit. The engine tuning kit is available in various versions for vehicles with or without AMG performance package. It is backed by the one-of-a-kind BRABUS tuning warranty of three years, up to 100,000 kilometers/62,000 miles (see BRABUS Warranty Terms and Conditions, updated November 2006). BRABUS recommends high-performance lubricants from technology partner MOTUL.

The tuning involves the integration of a plug-and-play BRABUS PowerXtra module into the engine electronics. This auxiliary control unit optimizes power yield as the result of a new mapping for injection and ignition as well as a moderate increase in boost pressure.

The perfect complement to the BRABUS engine tuning for the ML 63 AMG is a stainless-steel BRABUS sport exhaust system with butterfly valve. It gives drivers the option of switching between a discreet and quiet coming home mode and a decidedly throaty V8 exhaust note in sport mode at the push of a button. The BRABUS sport exhaust features two ceramics-coated design exhaust embellishers on either side for an even more striking rear appearance.

ML 63 models delivered ex-factory without performance package gain an extra 69 kW / 95 hp (93 bhp) with BRABUS B63-620 tuning; the performance version adds 45 kW / 63 hp (60 bhp). Both models produce a peak torque of 820 Nm (604 lb-ft), available between 2,000 and 5,000 rpm.

The BRABUS-tuned SUV accelerates from rest to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds. The BRABUS Vmax unit that is part of the performance kit can be programmed to allow an electronically limited top speed of 280 or 300 km/h (174 or 186 mph).

At these speeds aerodynamic properties are crucial. To account for this fact, the BRABUS designers have developed an additional spoiler for the production fascia. It is made from clear-coated carbon fiber and reduces lift on the front axle. A rear spoiler is available as its aerodynamic counterpart.

The front of the refined ML 63 AMG adds more appeal with striking attachments for the side air inlets. A centrally placed diffuser made from clear-coated carbon fiber adds even more sporty character to the rear.

The BRABUS WIDESTAR fender flares on the front and rear axle add six centimeters (2.5 inches) to the width of the top-of-the-line M-Class. These flares give the vehicle a more bullish stance that is rounded out with the attachment components for the sides of the front and rear fasciae. But thats not all: The WIDESTAR fender flares also make room for extremely wide BRABUS king-size tires with diameters of up to 23 inches.

The largest possible tire/wheel combination for the BRABUS WIDESTAR version features size 10Jx22 wheels. Customers can choose from five wheel designs, Monoblock VI, E, G "Platinum Edition", Q and R. The most exclusive option is the BRABUS Monoblock G "Platinum Edition" forged wheel. Thanks to cutting-edge manufacturing technology it offers an unparalleled combination of lightweight design and maximum strength. The corresponding high-performance tires in size 295/30 ZR 22 are supplied by BRABUS technology partners Continental, Pirelli and YOKOHAMA.

A special BRABUS control module for the AIRMATIC air suspension of the ML 63 AMG lowers the ride height of the high-performance SUV. This not only gives the all-wheel-drive car an even more striking appearance, the lowered center of gravity also further improves handling.

BRABUS is one of the top addresses in the world for exclusive automotive interior design. The company upholstery shop uses the finest leather and Alcantara to craft custom-tailored interiors for the ML 63 AMG to suit each owners personal taste.

Wood and genuine carbon-fiber trim sets in any desired color and with a variety of surface finishes are available to round out the ensemble. A speedometer with 360-km/h dial (225 mph) is also part of the product lineup as are special BRABUS aluminum shift paddles for the steering wheel.

2013 BMW M4 Concept Gets Its Roof Chopped Off

For the past three decades, the M3 series has been the sporting pinnacle of BMW's product range. The illustrious story of the two-door models will continue on the same path, albeit with a new designation: M4.
This week, we caught our first glimpse of the M4 Coupe in the guise of a concept model at Pebble Beach, and as we've seen so many times in the past, BMW's M studies don't change much, if at all, when they enter production.
That said, this CGI (Computer Generated Image) of an M4 Convertible from the creative minds atX-Tomi Design, is as close as you'll get to the actual model that should go on sale in markets around the world by early 2015.
Like the regular 4-Series Convertible that will be formally introduced later this fall, the open-top M4 will feature a three-piece electric-folding metal roof, while power will come from a newly developed 3.0-liter turbocharged six delivering about the same output as the outgoing M3's naturally aspirated V8, but more torque and better fuel economy numbers.

2013 BMW 435i Coupe

Autocar UK publishes their test drive of the BMW 435i.
Here is an excerpt from the review:
“On first impression, the 435i coupe doesn’t feel too far removed from the old 335i coupé There is terrific refinement to the driveline that characterises its on-road feel around town and on the motorway. But this comes as no real surprise. The worldwide sales success BMW has enjoyed over the past two decades has been based very much around evolutionary progression of its traditional model lines, and this is clearly evident in the on-road nature of its latest two-door.
On the one hand, this is a welcome development; up until it ceased production earlier this year this car’s predecessor still scored highly for overall engagement. On the other, it could be interpreted as complacency in the face of what is fairly formidable two door competition; a new model surely ought to bring a freshness of flavour beyond just a new name.
Despite the familiarity, there’s no doubting the ability of the BMW 4-series to entertain. In pure driving terms, it is every bit as engaging as the Audi A5 coupé and Mercedes-Benz E-class, if not more so. The electro-mechanical steering is accurate, responsive and quite well weighted with eager self-centering traits up to moderate speeds. However, a reduction of assistance makes it artificially light, rather devoid of feel and lacking any true feedback at higher speeds.
The 435i coupe’s chassis rates are noticeably higher than those in the 435i sedan, leading to tauter body control and greater levels of agility on testing sections of blacktop in sport mode. There is genuinely impressive poise on turn in and those optional 19-inch tyres deliver loads of front-end bite – all of which raises confidence levels from the very first corner.
When you raise the pace and dial up Sport Plus mode to reduce the threshold of the switchable DSC+ (Dynamic Stability Control Plus) system that also acts as an electronic differential, you discover an added dimension to the handling, and a keen ability to kick the tail out when tempted. But, as before, a firm ride can sometimes take the shine off the handling, robbing the chassis of mid-corner compliance when the surface is not absolutely smooth.”

A BMW M Performance silencer system is also available for the models BMW 428i and BMW 435i. It comprises BMW M Performance tailpipe embellishers in chrome, as well as in carbon for the BMW 435i.
Meanwhile the BMW M Performance limited-slip differential ensures traction-optimized power transmission on bends. Other features that boost the coupé’s dynamic potential are the BMW M Performance suspension with sporty set-up, the BMW M Performance brake system with red, yellow or orange calipers and the BMW M Performance light alloy wheels. The weight-optimized forged wheels in 20-inch format are available in two design variants as well as in the typical BMW M Performance bi-colour look in Ferric Grey with burnished spoke fronts. Another new feature in the BMW M Performance range is the 18-inch winter complete wheel sets in double-spoke design.
The dynamic charisma of the BMW 4 Series can also be given greater emphasis by means of BMW M Performance components for the exterior. A black radiator grid for the BMW kidney grille, a diffuser insert for the rear apron, side sill foils with M Performance inscription, BMW M Performance side stripes and carbon front splitters, mirror caps and rear spoiler optimize the coupe’s sporty appearance and aerodynamic properties. An interior ambience inspired by racing is ensured by the BMW M Performance sports steering wheel with red central marking or Race Display in 12 o’clock position as well as gear lever and handbrake handle in carbon including Alcantara gaiter. A carbon finish is likewise available for the gear selector switch of the automatic transmission. In addition, interior strips in carbon and Alcantara, high-grade steel pedals, a specially designed driver footrest and BMW M Performance floor mats are also available for the BMW 4 Series.
The new BMW 4 Series Coupé with BMW M Performance Parts premieres at the IAA in 2013.
