2013 Ford F-150 Tremor Pace Truck

An all-new F-150 is only a year away, but that's not stopping Ford from staying pedal-to-the-metal with the current F-150, embodied by the new short-bed, regular cab F-150 Tremor, complete with EcoBoost 3.5-liter V-6 cranking out a stout 420 lb-ft of torque, channeled through an appropriately short 4.10 rear end. To showcase its new hot-rod hauler, Ford is pacing this weekend's NASCAR Camping World Michigan National Guard Truck Series 200 at Michigan International Speedway with the 2014 Tremor.
Although not quite the extreme machine its predecessor SVT Lightning was, the Tremor comes close, with just 30 lb-ft less torque and only 15 hp less than its legendary spiritual predecessor. Official specifications for the Tremor have not yet been released, but weight for the 4x2 model will likely be close to that of a two-wheel-drive 5.0-liter V-8 short-bed, regular cab F-150, which weighs in at 4791 pounds. The 2003 Lightning tipped the scales at 4670, but also had a less-advanced four-speed automatic transmission. Unlike the Lightning, the Tremor will be offered in a 4x4 configuration, which will likely top 5000 pounds.
How will the new-age blown six-pot stand up to its bellowing bent-eight forebear? We'd love to know as much as you, and rest assured we're going to strap our test gear onto one as soon as we can.
